I first presented my lecture “The Time Warp Effect” at the first School of Busking course in 2006. It has become a keynote lecture, a true building block for street performers. Since then it has been published and has become a widely distributed article and it has benefited street performers, magicians, story tellers and public speakers alike.
Street performers both seasoned and those just starting out from around the world can see the importance of this lecture. Performers like Jungle Josh, Grindle, Alexander Wells, Alex D Fisher, Doris Stokes and Matthew Le Mottée are just a few who have taken the time to come and give me feedback and thanks.
The first 2006 School of Busking focus
It has been my honor to be asked to present this keynote lecture in Las Vegas since 2010 at The McBride Magic and Mystery School.
Further to this, I was asked to deliver my lecture at Magic and Meaning conference in Las Vegas in 2013. A conference where some of the greatest minds in the world of magic come together and share their insights, philosophies and inspirations. Here I took my lecture that was geared towards street performers and taught how this secret of “The Time Warp Effect” was transferable to all fields of public perfroming. I named this lecture “The Way of the Time Lord.”
When the late dear Eugene Burger, then the dean of the Magic and Mystery School approached me after my lecture and took the time to say “I really enjoyed your lecture Mario” I was deeply moved. Followed by , Larry Hass, Paul Draper, Luna Shimada, my comedy magic hero Mac King and many, many other Magicians, all singing the praises of the significance of this lecture.
I felt honored and it confirmed the importance to me of this work.
This lecture has gone worldwide and I was asked twice to deliver it at the Blackpool Magic Convention (the worlds biggest magic convention) – the first time in 2010. This lecture is the result of my life’s work. I gladly give it to you, you are all welcomed to use it. All I ask if you do that you give the School of Busking and myself credit for it. I am including for free a video recording that was taken at the Magic and Meaning conference in Las Vegas.
